01 — LEATHER CARE
Your leather gets better.
Genuine leather is a living material. It responds to how you treat it and develops a patina — a unique finish that becomes entirely your own over time.

Clean with a dry cloth
Wipe away dust and everyday marks using a clean soft cloth. Avoid tissues or rough paper surfaces because they slowly scratch the leather grain over time.

Condition every 3–6 months
Use a quality leather conditioner with a soft cloth and gently apply in circular motions.

Avoid prolonged sunlight
Direct sunlight for long hours may dry the leather and fade its colour.

Blot it immediately with a dry cloth and allow it to air dry naturally.

DavVero's position on sustainability is simple and honest: we make things that last. We don't use the word "sustainable" as a marketing device. We use it as a design principle.
Every piece we make is intended to be owned for a decade or more. The leather we use is full-grain — the strongest, most durable cut available. The stitching is saddle-stitched by hand — stronger than any machine stitch. The hardware is minimal because the fewer parts, the fewer things that fail.
This is not a brand that makes things for you to upgrade in two years. We make things for you to keep.

Repairable, Not Replaceable
We repair DavVero pieces wherever possible. If stitching fails or hardware wears out, contact us — we would rather repair your product than have you buy a new one.
AN HONEST CONVERSATION
Why genuine leather is the right material.
We know leather is a contested material. Here is our honest position on it — not a PR statement, but what we actually believe after thinking about this carefully.

It's a byproduct, not a primary product
The leather we use comes from hides that are a byproduct of the food industry. Using them for leather goods prevents them from going to landfill.

It outlasts every synthetic alternative
PU leather, vegan leather, and synthetic alternatives typically last 2–4 years before degrading. Full-grain leather lasts 20–30 years with basic care. The maths on environmental impact is not close.

It biodegrades. Synthetics don't.
At the end of a genuine leather product's life, it returns to the earth. Synthetic leather — made from PVC or polyurethane — does not biodegrade and contributes to microplastic pollution.

We don't greenwash. We just make things that last.
We won't claim to be a "sustainable brand" in the way that phrase is usually used. We make durable things from honest materials. That is our contribution.
The honest part
What we are still working on
We don't have all the answers. Our tanning process uses conventional chrome tanning, which has environmental costs we are working to understand better. We are exploring vegetable-tanned alternatives for future product lines, though these come with their own trade-offs in durability and price. We ship internationally, which has a carbon cost. We are investigating carbon offset programmes. We believe in telling you what we don't do as well as what we do — because trust matters more to us than a clean sustainability story.
